From Anna Schmidt Photography: “Brianna and Adam's wedding was so incredibly unique to photograph! The DIY bride is a talented artist and hand-crafted the details at her wedding. From the bouquets to the centerpieces, she designed and created it all. Inspired by gems, nature, and vibrant colors, she was able to fuse together these elements to create a one of a kind look for her special day that was truly indicative of her own style. Brianna even baked her own wedding cake and modeled it after her favorite gemstone, Amethyst. Her attention to detail makes this remarkable cake quite a masterpiece. Check out the artistic elements and colorful details created by this very talented bride!”
A jewel inspired boho wedding in Middleburg, VA
I made my wedding cake out of Pillsbury Funfetti covered in white chocolate ganache. The geodes were out of our own personal collection, and I added a little flare with the lace and gold leaf. I also made the edible sugar geode slices and chocolate diamonds to top the cupcakes (courtesy of Kroger grocery store bakery). The cookies/desserts were favorite family recipes generously donated by grandparents and great aunts from both sides.
My mom and I also made the geode table runners from fabric purchased at Houzz.com. I hand painted all the signs, banners, table settings. I originally wanted to use peonies, but they are expensive so I went for Tess David Austin Roses in burgundy with a range of antique roses in lavender, cream, apricot and coral ombre. For filler I used seeded eucalyptus, red hypericum berries, and burgundy astilbe. -Brianna
