Samantha and Stephen's September wedding at the Hilton in St. Petersburg had an elegant and sophisticated air that was elevated by golden accents, crystals and soft candlelight. K and K Photography captured their day.
Stephen and I are high school sweethearts. The wedding was over nine years in the making. Even before we met, I had known from an early age what I wanted my wedding to be like. I wanted an elegant wedding in a ballroom with touches of ivory, white, crystal and champagne, with just the right lighting to soften the whole room. Lush high and low centerpieces made of hydrangea and roses with crystal accents falling off the vases to create a sense of dimension in the room. Our wedding planner was able to see the vision and turn this into a reality for us. Every detail was thought out from the wine glass engraver, to the ivory dance floor, to the gold frames used for photos found at local vintage shops. Our table names were all Dave Matthews' songs and we danced to a Dave song for our first dance, “Steady As We Go.” Dave Matthews was the first concert we had every been to together as a one-year anniversary gift, and we have continued to enjoy and connect with his music. What made the day extra special was that family and friends had traveled far and wide to make our wedding day, even as far as Asia!
The day was really about just celebrating our love. Over nine years of facing challenges like distance and a recent deployment to Afghanistan. We have watched each other grow up and have been able to adapt to the changes along the way to come out stronger as a couple. – Samantha
