A berry-hued enchanted garden wedding styled shoot in Saugatuck, MI
With the slight warming of days, the faint songs of birds in the air, and the fading sun holding on slightly longer at dusk, the promise of spring, new beginnings and new wonders, have arrived.
With a love for the whimsical and an admiration for the enchanting, we took a journey to a quaint garden in lovely Saugatuck.
Enter through the fairy-tale like gates, which creakily announce any visitors, you will be greeted with iron animal statues adorning the lawns, flowering tress waving their delicate branches in the breeze, and ivy winding along the pathways. You will be momentarily secluded from the outside world.
With no need to look any further for style inspiration than right in front of me, I drew upon the estate and the magic it evoked. Lush, deep berry colors combined with creams and gold that played well against the grassy lawns and hedges.
In order to keep the style light and playful, I used natural elements like tree trunks and farm tables while decadent details of satin linens, velvet pillows and gold beaded chargers kept it elegant.
My Grandma’s vintage English china set the stage for the tablescape in a delicately twisting green floral pattern, accented by watercolor menus and tiny gold animals. Lush and romantic blooms, highlighted by trailing leafy branches foraged from my parent’s wooded estate, were paired with gold dipped antlers (that I made myself, such a fun project!) and show-stopping pheasant plumes. Add in some farm to table bites and the sweetest of cakes, along with a most stunningly dressed couple, it was a day out of a fairy tale. – Jessica, JS Weddings & Events
