Erica and Stephen's spring St. Louis wedding included a very special ceremony performed by Stephen's childhood pastor at Graham Chapel on Washington University's campus, and a reception at Jim Edmonds's Space 15, a steakhouse in downtown St. Louis that represented their favorite city, their favorite team (Jim Edmonds is a former Cardinal) and locally grown cuisine. Erica carried a bouquet with ivory dahlias as a nod to her Mexican heritage, and she even made her own hair piece; she put her great-grandmother's brooch that had been passed down to her from her grandmother right in the center as a way to keep their memories with her. Carretto Studio Photography captured their beautiful celebration!
A chic ivory and pink wedding in St. Louis, MO
Stephen and I are both from St. Louis, MO, but we did not meet until two weeks before I was leaving St. Louis to move to New York. We met at a place neither of us was supposed to be at that night because we had other plans. It was serendipitous. We had really great conversation that evening and continued having great conversation while I was in New York. After being in a long distance relationship for about a year, Stephen made the move to New York. We both could not have been happier to finally be in the same city together. The following year, Stephen and I went camping in the Adirondacks in upstate New York for Labor Day weekend. We hiked up Fifth Peak to eat lunch and take in the view of Lake George. Stephen proposed to me atop the peak that afternoon and made me an even happier woman. We started talking about wedding plans as we hiked back down. We wanted our wedding to represent our individual personalities, but also to represent the things we love and share together as a couple. But to be completely honest, I would have married Stephen anywhere any time, dress or no dress. I was just ecstatic to be in love with such an amazing man and knew he loved me just as much! – Erica
