Bridal Designer Feature: Lillian West

If you’re looking for a bridal collection that’s fun and free-spirited, the Lillian West brand comes to mind. Each design is effortlessly chic and full of whimsical elements and flowy silhouettes. It’s yet another brilliant collection that lives under the Justin Alexander brand.

How It All Began

When Justin Warshaw stepped into the family business, he had no idea that it would turn into a global empire. His grandparents opened their own bridal shop in the 1940’s and nearly 60 years later Justin’s father and uncle started working towards building a bigger brand. The Justin Alexander label was officially born in 2001 and when Justin stepped into the business in 2008, he immediately started working on developing distinct brands.

Getting Into the Bridal Industry

With five totally unique collections, the Justin Alexander brand combines contemporary designs and timeless silhouettes to create classic, refined creations. The Lillian West collection is a league of its own—wild, one-of-a-kind bridal design and handcrafted gowns with romantic, ethereal vibes for the laid-back bride.

The Empire Today

For brides looking for a boho, vintage-inspired collection, Lillian West is your girl. The prices are super affordable ranging from $1,500-$2,500. Plus, the bridal line is made for all shapes and sizes, ranging from size 2-32, all at the same price.

All gowns are sold through one of 16-hundred authorized retailers, meaning you won’t find it online. Gowns are made in China and Myanmar and a quality control team visits every shipment to ensure compliance. Brides will find the finest fabrics and embellishments on their gowns—full of flowy, feminine silhouettes, intricate details, and beautiful accents. Complete your bridal look with one of the label’s accessories options: a veil, belt, overskirt, tulle bow or detachable sleeves.

The new Spring/Summer 2022 collection, titled “Free Spirited Love” evokes a sense of sensuality blended with earthy textures, modern necklines, and organic lace. The gowns are wildly romantic and full of whimsical skirts and sheer details.

Fun sleeves are a big part of this collection, as seen on the two dresses on the left. The stretch crepe fit-and-flare gown in the top left has a chic one-shoulder and an illusion long sleeve. If you’re looking for wow factor, add the light and airy detachable overskirt. The gown in the bottom left is organic and ethereal with a sheer bodice and sequined and beaded appliques all over. The detachable tulle shoulder bows add a soft touch, and the fit-and-flare silhouette is eye-catching and romantic.

For a unique option, this pink champagne and ivory tulle gown on the bottom right is a stunner. We love the exposed boning and Chantilly lace overlay detail. The sequined lace appliques add a touch of shimmer and glam. We’re also a sucker for lace, so the crepe skirt paired with the modern lace bodice on the top right is a great choice. It’s a sexy option with a sensual contour fit.

We couldn’t get enough of the latest collection, so we went back to the previous collection as well. We love how each skirt is flowy and romantic but looks totally different.

For the modern boho bride, the off-the-shoulder A-line gown is fantastic. It’s a great mix of sparkly and sexy for the bride wanting to look like a princess. If you’re into ruffles, check out the whimsical ball gown in the middle. You’ll be swaying and dancing all night long in this gown and the 3D chiffon appliques are so dreamy.

The final dress is more elegant, and the fit-and-flare silhouette is great for showing off your curves. The allover lace detail adds a touch of vintage flair, and the detachable sleeves allow you to have two different looks from ceremony to reception.
