Merry Christmas, everyone! Today, I'm sharing some beautiful holiday wedding inspiration from Hana Gonzalez Photography! Filled with winter greenery, poinsettias, holiday berries and awesome details like fur stockings, this styled shoot evokes a cozy and romantic Christmas spirit!
A romantic Christmas wedding inspiration shoot in Bel Air, MD
“The holidays are such a wonderful time to get married. There's already extra cheer in the air and people just love to celebrate love. Inspired by enchanting elements that nature provides us this time of year – evergreen, holly, and berries – we used gold, red, and green to tie the palette together. We used blush throughout to soften the look and bring in some unique inspiration. We also wanted to honor the Liriodendron Mansion's Georgian Revival style by keeping things elegant and traditional. The mansion's branched archway was the perfect setting to bring to life a romantic sweetheart table. To create a warm holiday feel, we used hand-lettered signs, ready-made sparkling cranberry-accented cocktails, and a lovely mantle centerpiece for our escort cards. Fur stockings, lanterns, and candles were the crowning accents to bring holiday cheer. Instead of a floral bouquet, the bride's sister carried a gold lantern containing a single poinsettia bloom. Using as much of the expansive lawn as possible, we incorporated architectural pieces like the gorgeous copper arch and green settee. A dessert bar fit for a Christmas party featured jam-filled star cookies, chocolate mousse “presents,” and three wedding cakes adorned with sugar evergreen sprigs.”
The Flowers & The Cake
“Charmaine, of Fleur de Charme, used fir branches as the base for the bride's bouquet, weaving pops of red among white roses to create a natural, elegant arrangement. Traditional poinsettias and red winterberries were echoed throughout and celebrated the season, from the dessert bar to the arch.
“Inspired by the innate beauty of winter greenery, our baker Erin Dent of The Cake Studio created three separate minimalistic cakes that really let the floral elements shine. The cakes feature smooth white fondant and a delicate ribbon at the base, with sugar ilex berries and fir branches.”
“Our local vendor, Francesca's Bridal helped choose the perfect bridal gown to emulate the romance and glamour of Christmas. The soft, flourished layers and gold embellishments fit perfectly with our vision. Her bridesmaid is splendidly matched in a rich burgundy sequin floor-length gown, emulating our color palette. Pieces provided by Atheria Jewelry gave our bride some extra sparkle, with their Constellation Diamond Ring adding the ideal holiday touch.”
The Tablescape & Special Details
“Our sweetheart table was meant to be a warm, romantic haven for our bride and groom. Vintage gold candlesticks, traditional greenery, and winter florals were paired with modern, plush fur pillows and blush etched glassware to create a unique tablescape fit for the holidays. Gold pinecone salt and pepper shakers echoed natural elements found throughout our invitation suite. Using a beautiful table from East Vintage Charm, Heather layered lace, a fir bough, and votives to design an intimate table for two.
“Our prop stylist, Heather Misner of Atwater Lane, brought in several vendors to feature Christmas-inspired pieces. She created an invitation suite and escort cards featuring pinecones and greenery, finished out with artful gilded calligraphy provided by Shannon Lee of Peach and Paperie. Charming signs from Alicia Betz at The Welcoming District and pocket watches with matching cuff links from Groomsday added additional personal touches.”
