Valerie and Mitch got married in June at Gingerwoods near Louisville, Kentucky. The venue was the perfect choice for their beautiful, vintage details! Anna K Photography captured their special day.
Our wedding took place at Gingerwoods Event Hall in Prospect (about 10 minutes from Louisville). The building was originally built in 1869 as a church and has since been renovated into an event hall. Although renovated, it still maintains the rustic feel that we were looking for. Our ceremony was held outside with a beautiful pastoral backdrop. The reception was held inside the main hall as well as on the outside deck. Our wedding theme could be described as “country vintage,” which fit perfectly with our venue. The country setting and beautiful interior of Gingerwoods made choosing such a theme quite easy. We wanted a casual event where all of our guests could have a good time, and that's just what we got. Mason jars, burlap and many DIY details were used throughout to help pull everything together. One thing that made our wedding unique was the petting zoo right next door. Guests could visit with the zebras, alpacas, goats, and other animals that came right up to the neighboring fence. A couple other things I enjoyed most about our night was our band that entertained guests all night and a candy buffet stocked with some of my favorite candy. – Valerie
