This stunning wedding inspiration shoot from Portland highlights all the special details that define Persian wedding traditions! Opal and Rose Photo and Heart of Celebration were inspired by Sofreh Aghd, but they found there wasn't a lot of inspiration out there for couples seeking a traditional Persian wedding. Combining a deep respect for the beauty of Sofreh Aghd, as well as elements of the Pacific Northwest, they created a sultry and food-centric shoot with a color palette that reflects the moody earth tones of Portland.
A Persian wedding inspiration shoot in Portland, OR
A stunning luxurious long sleeve lace dress from Lazaro set the mood for the shoot. Traditional Persian pieces straight from Vintage Meets Moderns family home made it authentic.
The Sofreh Aghd is a traditional wedding spread laid out in front of the couple during the ceremony. All pieces represent an element of the couples new life together. Our spread included the mirror (AYEENEH) representing brightness and light for the couples future and candles (SHAMDOON) representing clarity and energy. We also interpreted the traditional holy book as a book of poetry from Rumi. We had a traditional cloth as the base covered in beautiful sweets, treats and spices which we've outlined below. The last piece was the seating (MOKHADDEH) in which we used vintage Persian chairs.
