A modern royalty wedding styled shoot in Atlanta, GA
The black and white striped tablecloth has been really popular this year, and we love the classic, sophisticated look it brings to a table, especially an estate. However, since the black and white striped look has been so common, we wanted to create the same look, but in a different and more elegant way. We incorporated sheer black organza fabric and cut it into a little longer than table width length and draped it loosely over an ivory dupioni. This made for a truly elegant display and softly implied the classic black and white striped aesthetic we were going for. Instead of doing paper place cards, we opted for filled milk bottles to highlight the envisioned groom's Southern roots and to later be paired with the s'mores bar. We paired gold beaded chargers with navy and gold rimmed fine china and gold silverware. For glassware, we paired Schott Zweisel Pure Crystal with airbrushed gold-bottom globe glasses.
We wanted to make this shoot personal and infuse the personalities of the bride and groom in subtle ways throughout the entire display of the event. Throughout the planning, we envisioned a bride that loves Grey's Anatomy, loves royal details, loves animal print and fashion and loves to travel. We infused these elements into the display by handpicking a Grey's Anatomy quote about the beauty of love to have written in calligraphy on a scroll by a talented calligrapher. We had the bride and groom pose with the scroll and later displayed it on the favor table. We used a replica of Princess Diana's wedding ring for the bride to highlight her love of royal details. The cake was designed to have the oval sapphire stone surrounded by diamonds of the ring as the focal point detail with the incorporation of the other shoot colors surrounding it. We also had the bride wear cheetah print Michael Kors shoes under her dress and arranged decorative luggage and travel items around the escort card display. For our groom, we envisioned someone who is well-read and successful with roots in the South and a passion for travel as well. To incorporate these elements, we arranged to have classic novels handed out as wedding favors, a helicopter departure, a Movado watch, vintage milk bottles as escort cards, fur throws, and a golden deer head as well as other rustic details. – Karen, Pop + Fizz
