Family heirlooms are one of my favorite details in weddings because they carry so much meaning for the couple. This lovely styled shoot from Rachel Betson Photography, LLC was inspired by heirlooms, and the result is a sweet and romantic setting at the golden hour. A soft, delicate palette of blush, cream and greenery (along with some yellow and rose gold) offset the heirloom pieces perfectly.
An heirloom inspired romantic wedding inspiration shoot in Perkasie, PA
From the time I was a little girl, I used to love looking through my grandmother's home and adore all of her old, delicate, beautiful china. She would always have such nice sets set out on the dining room table. When she passed away a year ago, I knew I wanted to use some pieces that always meant so much to me in memory of her. This shoot was definitely inspired by my grandmother's home; almost every piece you see on the table has been passed down and filtered through her home. From the settee, the luncheon set, the delicate flutes, even the old farm table and chairs are my grandmother's! I wanted to inspire brides to think outside of the modern wedding; to look within the family and use pieces that have sentimental value. Collaborations between local vendors in our area came together to create the most beautiful settings around these romantic luncheon pieces and bonus, the golden hour was absolutely perfect! The ‘bride and groom' are a real life couple (they've only been dating 6 months, though you would never be able to tell!). We all wanted the general idea to be soft, natural, airy, golden, and vintage. I think we captured this perfectly!
We mixed and matched the plates along with different textures of glasses; delicate crystal with heavy textured goblets and pink glass. The gown is also a two piece, the top being a body suit and the bottom being a nice flowing blush skirt – it goes perfectly with out whole aesthetic. We also chose a different style ring set instead of the traditional diamond ring. We wanted to take advantage of the trending rose gold and absolutely loved the delicate wedding band. Our florist chose to put some herbs in all of the bouquets, as well; you will find rosemary, thyme, and cilantro! – Rachel
