This elegant yet bohemian wedding styled shoot from Heather Elizabeth Photography and Blue Daphne is inspired by the culture of yoga – the beauty, the strength and the sensuality! From Jennifer at Blue Daphne: “I wanted to pair the love I see in yogi couples with an elegantly designed event, inspiring a huge market of yoga lovers in their upcoming wedding design. My lovely model friends are real-life married acro yogis so they then became the center to which I designed this shoot. I wanted to showcase their skills in acro, as I know many yoga couples out there aspire to do hot couple poses (and where better than at your own wedding for all to see?!). And also show a little bit of the yoga culture through their signage, reflecting what I would think would occur during some hard-core yogis' wedding day. The flower mandala from Bewilder Floral is also super important. All the sincere and inspiring Instagram yogis include a mandala tapestry in their tutorials, so the idea of making a beautiful mandala out of flowers and greens was just too good.”
A yoga inspired styled shoot in San Francisco, CA
The dress, a two-piece Tara Latour, provided the movement we needed and the San Francisco bride feel I was looking for. I am all about alternative gowns and this one has the best combination of being different and cool but still cannot be mistaken for bridal. And the groom looked equally stylish in his custom suit from Beckett & Robb! Both are wearing new TOMS formal shoes from their newly launched wedding collection, and were the most comfortable shoes we have ever stepped in. Custom stacking rings from Luana Coonen really fit this style, as did the custom letterpress invitation in wax paper and twine from Lotus & Ash.
Bottom line, I am a lover of texture. I want to see and feel the rich quality of every detail. A sturdy layered invitation is a good indication right off the bat that the wedding you're about to attend is going to have some wow factor. My love for textures extend beyond to the chiffon layers of the Tara Latour skirt, the leather TOMS shoes, the rich fabric of the B&R suit, the romantic mauve and plum sweet pea in the floral arrangements, rose gold and brass geo terrariums, ash blue gauze linen runner, and calligraphed stones.
I could go on and on, but this shoot had me dreaming every night prior and since as I was trying to pull all the elements together. So proud how it all turned out!
